"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

We weren’t exactly sure what to expect when we took the decision to open up our doors again 2 weeks ago. The business environment has changed so drastically over the past months and the subject has been a sensitive topic for our rural communities in the San Diego backcountry. We weren’t even expecting to be open until at least June 1st. We were informed about the sudden decision to open up the campground on May 15, with just a 72 hour window to stage and prepare all of our sites. We weren’t even sure if people would be comfortable traveling again under the circumstances. We faced lots of concerns and uncertainty on whether to resume operations again.

After much deliberation, we decided that we couldn’t remain shutdown any longer. In support of the decision by US Forest Service - Descanso Ranger District Office and RRM to open up the campgrounds, we decided to resume operations in compliance with all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.

We decided to start with a soft opening and were immediately overwhelmed with the demand. We’ve done our best to communicate and follow up with enquiries, while being thrown back into the operation after 2 months of closure. We appreciate all of your support and understanding during these crazy and uncertain times. We wouldn’t have made it this far without the love and support of our glamping tribe. We’re sorry if we haven’t been as responsive as normal. We’re doing our best. We’ll have 3 more sites starting July 1st when Laguna Campground opens up again. Stay tuned for the lates updates!

In these stressful and confusing times - the service we facilitate has become more important than ever. After over 8 weeks of stay at home orders; it’s time for some much needed nature therapy and forest bathing. It’s time to get back outdoors and renew our commitment to the preservation of our public lands. It’s time for re-connecting with family and friends in the great outdoors.

We remain committed to serving the outdoor recreation and camping community, in our capacity as US Forest Service Outfitters. Nothing makes us happier than bringing families and friends together for intimate and memorable experiences in the great outdoors.

Hold your loved ones close. Make time for the things that matter most.

With love,

Shantel and Rami Abdel
